 Among the Shelves
« Thread Started on Mar 9, 2007, 12:21pm »

Amber Summers smiled to herself as she wandered down the long corridor to the Library. She had been exploring the castle for a few days now-as to be expected she couldn't cover the entire thing in one swoop-and was now making her way to the Library. Amber had never been much of a reader, except when it came to searching for information about her favorite football teams or a school project. It wasn't that she didn't like reading, she just had to have a very good incentive to do it. Amber was more of a writer herself, anyway. Especially when it came to music writing for her newly-formed band.

Amber sighed wistfully as she thought of her friends. They supported her when she found out she would be going to this school and she missed them terribly. However, she didn't have to go very far to see them, seeing as her hometown was San Fransisco. She couldn't wait to send them pictures of this place; so far it had been amazing! The only downside was Amber hadn't met anyone new yet, but she was hoping to very soon.

Finally she reached her destination and quietly stepped inside. As she entered, the librarian gave her a stern look as though she had already done something wrong. Amber just smiled and waved before meandering off into the thicket of shelves. She stopped among a long shelf, full of books about the wizarding sport Quidditch. Yanking out a dusty volume, Amber eagerly flipped through it. The blond read vigorously, not really paying attention to her surroundings after that.

((this is JR.!! ;D))

Allen walked into the library and sighed. He loved reading books but was surprisingly not in the mood. He looked at his surroundings and thought. He looked at the different shelves and saw that there were, including him, only possibly 6 people in the very large library. He had just arrived at the new school and was a little nervous. He looked around and saw many different shelve labled in such faded print that he couldn't figure out how in the world people could read the labels. Allen saw saw what he was looking for. Maps. He picked one out and started examining it.

He had a knack for memorizing everything on anything. He looked at it and memorized it for about 5-7 minutes. He looked up and saw a girl standing there and reading like a mad man. Or woman. He walked up to here and couldn't bite his tounge long enough. It was too funny to see someone that interested in a book.

"Woah there, don't strain yourself. " Allen said laughing.

(('Sup?))

As Amber flipped though the Quidditch volume, she did not realize someone had also entered the narrow shelf area. She tossed a strand of her blond hair over her shoulder, still engrossed in her reading. The topic on the page she was reading happened to be all about the specific techniques of Quidditch. Suddenly, Amber heard a voice near her right shoulder. She jerked her head up and looked over.

A boy her age or younger stood before her. "Oh, hey." Amber giggled. "I'm not straining. It's just really interesting, that's all."

(( . . . it's too short!))

Allen smiled. "Oh. Well what's so interesting?" Allen asked. "I'm Allen Schneider by the way. I just got here from Hartford. Hartford Connecticut, just so you know." He had met someone! Allen couldn't get over that fact. He loved to say that he did. He had done it before but this was cool. He had wondered something. "What's your name?" Allen forgot to ask. "Were are you from.

"You looked a little crazy standing there reading so frantically." Allen laughed.

((Don't worry 'bout it. Mine's worse. ::) ))
